Founded in 1993, Red Hat is the leader in enterprise Linux and the most recognised open-source brand in the world. Red Hat serves global enterprises with technology and services made possible by the open-source model — including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, JBoss Enterprise Middleware, and a broad range of management services. Interics Asia was commissioned to design their new office in Beijing, located in the first LEED Platinum building. The concept design was to attract young, gifted technical employees. Spaces meet and collaborate with a cool edge and feature a dynamically designed café area, adjacent to the training facilities. The acoustic walls and banquet seats were designed to create tight, intimate open spaces within large corporate head offices. To cater to the high number of Gen Y staff, Interics Asia designers maximised spaces through linear and minimal interior concepts with enough character for Gen Y and millennials to embrace. Located in the Prosper Centre, the Red Hat office aimed for Gold LEED accreditation once completed in November 2010.
